The French government has almost stripped the right-wing of their electoral rights through the courts. It has just happened quite recently that the French court has sentenced the French right-wing leader, Marine Le Pen, to jail and barred her from running for public office for five years. This undeniable political verdict reflects the extreme tendencies of Europe's progressive factions, who use the law as a political weapon to suppress their political opponents.
Le Pen's case reveals that the current European liberals share a similar approach to the policies of the American Democratic Party, where both have become radicalized. Many did not take JD Vance's speech at the Munich Security Conference seriously at the time, but more and more realities now show that his criticism of Europe is valid. He pointed out in Munich that today's European politics can almost be compared to the dictatorship of the Soviet Union. At that time, this sparked a backlash from Europeans, who felt that the Americans had gone too far and that their criticism of Europe was unfair. Yet this is what has been happening now. Germany's treatment of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party also involves undemocratic practices, such as their publicly denied but actually executed "firewall". Through political coalitions, they marginalize right-wing political factions that have significant social representation.
In the face of a severe decline in public support and a disastrous economy, if a truly democratic election were held, the progressive governments in Europe would obviously lose power easily. This is unacceptable to the left, who have long claimed to champion "political correctness". Therefore, they have resorted to their final move, that is to weaponize and politicize the law. The consequences of this are extremely serious. The law will lose its former objective, independent, and credible status. The last safeguard of Western society, the legal system and its authority, will be virtually lost due to the unscrupulous tactics of the progressive factions.
The same situation is happening in the United States. The Democratic Party has previously used the courts to block Donald Trump from running, and now they are trying to undermine his administration’s governance. U.S. judges openly violate the principle of the separation of powers by intervening in the executive branch's affairs, even ordering planes carrying criminals to return to the U.S. In today's America, the courts have completely replaced the Democratic Party in intervening with all of the Trump administration's actions. Judges are engaged in political activities under the guise of the law, where their personal political stances have become the basis of their undertaking. Such an extreme political environment does make one wonder if the rise of McCarthyism in the past might have been driven by the left.
Western politics has deteriorated to such an extent that the future is clear: democracy will be replaced by authoritarianism. Extreme polarization has rendered moderates irrelevant, leaving only authoritarianism to emerge, backed by mass support. The future world will be defined by various forms of authoritarianism: benevolent, oppressive, limited, and lawless. This is the inevitable trajectory for the world.
