China-Switzerland FTA is to Build Bridgehead in Europe
ANBOUND

On 24 May, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and President of Swiss Confederation Ueli Maurer in Berne have signed a memorandum of understanding on ending China-Switzerland FTA (Free Trade Agreement) negotiation, only one step away from officially signing and ratifying the agreement. Therefore, Anbound think-tank scholars point out that the MOU increases the possibility for China to export semi-finished to Switzerland and re-export to Europe through processing in Switzerland, and finally to expand European market. The FTA will be a breakthrough, particular in the current context that the EU denies China as a market economy.
