"Desinicization" has become a fixed strategy of Vietnam's economy. ANBOUND research team believes that although Vietnam can threaten China to some extent in the field of electronic products OEM via introducing giants such as Samsung, currently, the main advantages of Vietnam lie in cheap labor force and its supporting infrastructures fall behind compared with China. Even if Vietnam wants to increase its investment in infrastructure, it needs time and funds, which can’t be achieved in short term. Given Vietnam’s reliance on China’s economy, it won’t be easy for Vietnam to realize desinicization.
