He Jun: Anti-corruption's Short Term and Long Term Impact on China’s Economy
ANBOUND

ANBOUND senior researcher He Jun argues that the impact of China's anti-corruption needs to be viewed from both short term and long term perspectives. In the short run, the anti-corruption movement will certainly bring certain shocks to China’s economy, making officials over prudent or even sluggish; however in the long run, it will benefit market with the precondition that China undergoes a marketization reform to allow enterprises to grow. Therefore, while engaging in the effort of anti-corruption, China needs to conduct reform and construction from multiple aspects, otherwise, an observably positive impact could hardly be brought about to China’s marketization reform.
