ANBOUND: The Sino-Burma Cooperation Requires Comprehensive Adjustment

Recently, Kyauk Phyu-Kunming railway project have been called a halt by the Burmese Department of Railway Transportation, the second China-backed large project after the Myitsone Dam. ANBOUND think tank scholars state that facing a sweeping political reform, Burma's decision of departure from China can be regarded as an action to break out of the traditional Sino-Burma cooperating framework. China should carry out a comprehensive adjustment for the relationship between China and Burma. Under the new circumstances, new political and economic chips and balance need to be established for further bilateral cooperative strategies and policies.
