Japan's Ending the Ban on Exercising "Collective Self-defense" Threats Regional Security
ANBOUND
On July 1st, Japanese government approved changes to its pacifist constitution allowing for "collective self-defense". It is noteworthy that there is no clear promise that the excessive use of military force will be stopped. ANBOUND think tank scholars believe that this change has very negative influence on regional peace and stability. The Abe government is doing this to lay foundation for amending its constitution. Sooner or later, Japan will get rid of pacifist constitution and interfere with regional and international situation by military. Thus, ending the ban on exercising "collective self-defense" is only the first step of militarism of Abe government. The following steps will undoubtedly have a much bigger impact on East Asia and even the whole world.
