China is not Blindly Reducing its Participation in International Affairs
ANBOUND

China has been taking a back seat in many international affairs over the recent years and raised queries from some overseas media. ANBOUND think tank scholars thinks that China's participation in international affairs and the improvement of its international status need to take into account both interest and strategy to "lay low and bide their time". China has no intention to be the first in the world as the cost of being “second” is far lower than being the “first”. However, China is not an isolated country and should actively participate in some cooperation organizations such as OECD and TPP which include many of the developed and newly emerging countries. It is foreseen to have significant value to China’s future development.
