Chan Kung: China's Anti-Corruption Campaign Has Minor Effect on Economic Growth

Will China's anti-corruption campaign undermine the economic growth? ANBOUND’s chief researcher Chan Kung stated that the direct influence would be small and mainly reflected through the consumption. The consumption data has been consistently stable for years and the key for China’s economic growth is investment. Therefore, although the anti-corruption campaign will affect China’s economic but the magnitude is much smaller than expectation. Outsiders’ perception on this issue is rather deviated from the reality.
