Chinese President Xi Jinping left Beijing on Friday to attend a second informal meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a state visit to Nepal.

This is Xi's first foreign trip after the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Chinese Vice-Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui said earlier that the visits to India and Nepal from Friday to Sunday are expected to inject new impetus into China's relations with the two countries.
