2014 APEC meeting will be held in Beijing by October with a theme of"To construct a future-oriented Asia-pacific partnership". ANBOUND think tank scholars believe that China would like to gain solid progress amidst of competitive international trade and investment (such as dealing with the challenges of TPP) via APEC meeting. However, the anticipated progress is still uncertain since WTO was neglected by the new framework for international economic and trade, not to mention APEC meeting that merely represents the Pacific Rim economies.
