Foreign Enterprises Worry That China Might Adopt Protectionism
ANBOUND
Chinese National Development and Reform Commission have strengthened the supervision on foreign enterprises for the past two years. Recently, NDRC is investigating Qualcomm in alleged monopoly the fourth-generation mobile network licenses. Some analysts said that NDRC is doing it on purpose to hinder the development of Qualcomm in order to help the local companies. ANBOUND think tank scholars do not agree with such analysis. However, the growing suspicion has led to greater concern amongst the foreign enterprises whereby China might adopt protectionism measures. This concern, however, cannot be reassured merely by official announcements.
