President Xi Jinping recently suggested that urbanization is not about land but population instead, meanwhile an active and stable approach should be adopted instead of a rush one. ANBOUND's research team thinks that there are still a lot of divergences regarding the new urbanization hence the society should lower their expectation towards it. ANBOUND suggests that instead of blindly pursuing the urbanization rate, China should focus on the future new urbanization and planning, emphasize on small-medium sized towns as well as adopt diversifying approaches in implementing urbanization.
