China's Food Security Strategy Should Benchmark Global Market

China's food security attracts worldwide attention because even though China’s food production has been growing for the past ten years, the country’s import on food also keep increasing due to the population growth, changes in urbanization, consumption upgrade and environmental pollution. Anbound think tank scholars suggest that China should solve the food security problems based on global market instead of domestic market. Moreover, food security should be considered as stable as long as the food supply is stable. Therefore, China does not have to produce all of the food or stick to a particular self-sufficiency rate.
