Anbound Projects the Economic Losses of Lushan Earthquake to be 42.2 Billion Yuan
ANBOUND

At the morning of April 20, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Lushan County in Sichuan Province. This is by far, the strongest earthquake after the devastating Wenchuan earthquake in 2008. Though the magnitude of the most recent earthquake is lower than the former in terms of those who are affected, the economic costs are still huge by comparison. According to Anbound's Founder and Chief Researcher, Chan Kung, the earthquake causes about 4.5 billion yuan losses for the local households with the direct costs projected to be 42.2 billion yuan. Anbound's evaluation is much higher than other forecasts released by domestic securities and investment banks, which generally forecasted 10 billion yuan economic losses.
