The 18th CPC National Congress and the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee called on boosting the development of think tanks with Chinese characteristics and establishing and improving the system of policy-making consultations. Thanks to the attention from high-level government officials, the formation of policy environment as well as the changes in the perspective of government officials, the demand conditions for China's think tank development have been obviously improved, and have been attracting more social resources into the field of think tanks. However, in order to genuinely enhance the levels of research and policy-making support and to truly forge an efficient system for Chinese think tanks’ prosperous development, it still requires a practical study, perfection and construction on some internal issues. Based on the research and growth practices of ANBOUND think tank, this article suggests 8 advices for the development of a high-level think tank in China.
