On 14th June 2012, the US government announced its new strategy for sub-Saharan Africa, pledged to strengthen the US-Africa relations, enhance the bilateral trade and promote peace, security, good policies as well as democracy in this region. The main content and focus of the strategy emphasized on key 4 aspects. First, to strengthen the democratic-institutions; Second, to promote economic growth, trade and investment; Third, to promote peace and security; and Fourth, to promote opportunities and development. As the world's most powerful nation, US’ new strategy on Africa will certainly have significant impact on Africa. China which has significant economic interest in Africa should pay attention to the new strategy.
