President Xi Jinping announced the initiative to establish Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank during his visit to Indonesia in October this year. However, there is no further explanation or actions from the Chinese authorities or officials since then. ANBOUND's research team thinks that President Xi’s proposal reflects China’s strong interest to adopt financial approaches to promote multilateral diplomacy and cooperation as well expanding RMB’s influences to its neighboring countries.
