ANBOUND:Immense Barriers Exist for Further Elevation of Sino-Russia Economic and Trade Cooperation
ANBOUND
The Chinese and Russian premiers have conducted their 18th regular meeting and signed several agreements and projects. From the output, it is not an exaggeration to say that substantial economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has not been achieved. Anbound's research team considers that two factors have contributed to this situation: one is Russia’s economic development model that requires improvements in its investment environment; another is the lack of the will and demand for overall trade and economic cooperation besides the resources and military industries, for the two nations. Anbound’s chief researcher, Chan Kung is pessimistic about Russia’s future economic development due to Russia’s reluctance in enacting substantial adjustments in its economic structure and the country’s over dependence on its resources as the main income source.
