According to the 12th Five-Year Plan of shale gas released in 2012,the output of Chinese shale gas will reach 6.5 billion cubic meters by 2015. Though breakthroughs have been made in relevant technology and equipment, a unified standard for the resources is still lacking nationwide. Since the actual output of shale gas now is less than 500 million cubic meters, it would be hard to fulfill the goals as planned within the 12th FYP.
