A Weak Europe Could Be Casualty of Collapsed World Order
ANBOUND
After
the United States withdrew from the Iranian Nuclear Deal, German Chancellor
Angela Merkel expressed the sentiment that Europe can no longer trust the
United States, "Europe must take its destiny in its own hands, that's the
task of the future". Anbound points out that the disappointment of Merkel
reveals that there has been a clear rift in the post-war World Order. However,
the United States and China have their own problems and development goals.
Under such condition, Europe, trapped in nationalism and xenophobia, is facing the
increase of social inequality and the collapse of traditional welfare system.
A weak Europe may become the casualty of the collapse of World Order.
