New officials' performance evaluation would possibly bring policy changes to China

In
recent years, Anbound repeatedly urged to reform the performance evaluation
standards and assessment methods for the Chinese officials. Yang Weimin, Deputy
Director of the Office of the Central Leading Group on Financial and Economic
Affairs, announced that China's government will accelerate to formulate six
major systems including high-quality development indicators, policy system,
standard system, statistical system, performance assessment, and outcome
evaluation. Anbound noted the adjustment and establishment of these six major
systems representing a major shift in the officials' performance evaluation
system. Such changes may affect the officials' development concept and
governance behavior, and will also bring great policy changes to China.
