ANBOUND
In the recent Malaysia's 14th General Election, the opposition coalition Pakatan Harapan, led by the country's 93-year-old former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, emerged victorious. The majority view of the market believes that this is extremely unfavorable for China-Malaysia relations, and China's investment in Malaysia will face larger risks. However, Anbound believes that the biggest uncertainty brought about by the results of this election is Malaysia's domestic political instability. However, the actual governing and economic needs may also make it impossible for the future leaders of Malaysia to ignore foreign capitals, including that of China's.
