China's iron and steel de-capacity can be integrated with China-India relations
ANBOUND
While China is undergoing de-capacity for its iron and steel production, India's iron ore and steel production has been growing strongly. China's suppression of the iron and steel industry is in contrast with India’s expansion. In fact, in the process of the improvement of China-India relations, China can consider integrating its de-capacity of its iron and steel production with the expansion of India’s capacity. There has been unconfirmed information revealing that one of the outcome of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Wuhan at the end of last month was about the physical disposal of Wuhan Iron and Steel Group Corporation (WISCO)'s production line. If this is true, China will have the potential to use iron and steel de-capacity to open-up new opportunities of international exchanges.
