Since last year, there have been incidents of adulteration of economic statistics in various parts of China. The major impact of these incidents is that if the economic growth is compressed at a large scale, the basis for China's past economic growth will be shaken. First, it may affect China’s arrangement for the establishment of well-off, all-rounded society. Second, it may affect China’s judgment on steady growth and high-quality development. China, which has already adjusted its "obsession" for GDP growth, has now suddenly found out that the past high GDP growth statistics could be fake. Third, it may affect the related evaluation of de-leveraging and risk prevention. Fourth, excessive fake statistics may affect future financial policies and related judgments. These adjustments will significantly affect China's many major strategic arrangements and economic policies.
