ANBOUND
The
National Development and Reform Commission of China recently approved the
feasibility study report for a new Hetian-Ruoqiang Railway in Xinjiang Uygur
Autonomous Region. The projected investment totals RMB 22.15 billion. This railway
will support poverty alleviation and promote the economic and social
development in the Southern Xinjiang. ANBOUND researchers said it a milestone
for China's railway construction, which will cross the border of the south of Xinjiang's
most remote, desolated, and uninhabited places. It is definite to have a
geostrategic significance.
