Beijing's role as international exchange center requires foreign investment
ANBOUND

While Beijing is building the four centers (political, cultural, international exchange, and science and technology innovation centers), high asset prices have caused the relocation of foreign capital, where some of them have even left Beijing. This phenomenon is worth paying attention. Anbound's research team reminds that Beijing's state-owned enterprises (SOE) and foreign enterprises headquarters are all concentrated and are being built into China’s international exchange center. Beijing needs to pay close attention on attracting foreign investment and retaining foreign capital. This is not merely about the increase or decrease of taxation, it is also related to important issues such as the international image of Beijing as a super-metropolis, its openness as a global city, and its attractiveness to international high-end resources. Without foreign investment, Beijing will not be able to assume its role as international exchange center.
