U.S. established rules for data controller standard
ANBOUND

The United States has established the data controller standard through the Clarifying Lawful Overseas Use of Data Act (CLOUD Act). The Act stipulates that regardless of whether communications, records, or other information are stored in the United States, service providers shall, in accordance with the requirements of the United States, preserve, back up, and disclose the contents, records, or other information of the communications, as long as the above-mentioned communications, records, or other information are in the possession, custody, or control of the service provider. This means that the U.S. government will retain access to and control of overseas data.
