Unwise to use forceful means to support the chip industry in China

The economist Wu Jinglian pointed out that the U.S.-China trade conflicts and the ZTE incident will influence institutional issues in China, like its opening-up and reform. However, there seems to be a dangerous tendency in the online public opinion in China for using more forceful administrative power to support the development of the industry, like the slogan "develop the chip industry at all costs." In fact, the government has always attached great importance to the problem of chips; the problem is not about financing, but that there are many deep-rooted problems to be solved.
