China to reduce tariff on auto imports

At Boao Forum for Asia that this year, President Xi Jinping promised that China will considerably reduce the tariffs on auto imports and on some other products. According to sources quoted by the media, China is considering reducing import tariffs on passenger cars. The plan is to reduce the tariff on imported cars to 10% or 15%. The relevant decision may be announced as soon as next month. Since 1986, tariffs on imported cars in China have been adjusted for 9 times and tariffs on cars imported in 2006 have been reduced to 25% from the previous 220%, and have continued to this day.
