Devaluing RMB not wise policy choice
ANBOUND
On April 9, the exchange rate of the RMB has greatly dropped. According to reports, China is considering using the devaluation of the RMB to deal with the current trade dispute with the United States. It should be pointed out that the trade war between China and the United States is still in progress. On the one hand, China must avoid blind optimism and the thought that it can win easily; on the other hand, China should also be careful to avoid turning the "trade war" into a "financial war." When the outlook is not clear, if China actively devalues the RMB to ease trade pressures, it does not seem to be a wise policy choice. Maintaining exchange rate stability is the best policy.
