In response to the current problem of the inconsistency between China's local GDP aggregate and national GDP data, China's National Bureau of Statistics spokesman Mao Shengyong stated that in 2019 China will formally launch a unified calculation system for regional GDP, which will be organized and led by the National Bureau of Statistics. If local economic calculation is unified, the economic statistics will be impacted in the short term. The statistics department now gives advances and it will only be implemented fully in 2019; one of the effects of such decision is to slow down the statistical impact.
