The investment of Geely's Li Shufu on Daimler has caused much controversies both in China and in overseas. Anbound’s chief researcher Chan Kung believes that the issue lies in the policies, not the finance. He pointed out that the Chinese government should support Li Shufu even if it is not raising money outside the country. Real entrepreneurship is about capital investment, and Li Shufu’s act is not suicidal but rather it is an act of capital application in the real economy, so that industrial capital power can exert its value and effectiveness in the international market. China must recognize the changes in the situation at the strategic level, and form new ideas to take the initiative to adjust and innovate.
