CFIUS blocks China-back fund's acquisition of Xcerra
ANBOUND

The mergers and acquisitions of Chinese enterprises in the field of semiconductor companies once again have been blocked. US semiconductor company Xcerra said on February 22 that the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) had prevented the company from selling it for US$ 580 million to a China-back semiconductor investment fund; this is the latest obstacle faced in such deal. According to insiders, CFIUS halted the deal because it was taken into account that Xcerra is part of the device supply chain of the US government and the military supply.
