China needs to reassess the safety of energy supply network in Central Asia
ANBOUND
On the 31st January, PetroChina said that as the current gas supply situation deteriorated continuously, on 30th January, the gas pipeline from Central Asia dropped from 120 million cubic meters to 70 million cubic meters, down by nearly half compared with the same period of last year and the average daily deficit has reached 30 million cubic meters. Allegedly, the near-critical oil pipeline is in danger of collapsing. The gas supply originated in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. If this international gas supply "artery" is not safe, China needs to reassess the safety of its energy supply network in Central Asia.
