China Banking Regulatory Commission's opinions on licensing matters of foreign-funded banks
ANBOUND
On the 28th, China Banking Regulatory Commission has released the draft for soliciting opinions on the revision of the Measures for the Implementation of Administrative Licensing Matters of Foreign-funded Banks of China Banking Regulatory Commission. The first is to increase the provisions on the licensing conditions and procedures for foreign-funded corporate banks to set up and acquire shares in domestic banking financial institutions. The second is eliminating the examination and approval of foreign-funded banks for providing overseas wealth management services on behalf of clients, hosting overseas wealth management services on behalf of clients, and securities investment fund custody; instead the reporting system is to be implemented. The third is to further standardize the market access standards for foreign-funded banks.
