Shanghai's competition targets are global cities
ANBOUND
In the overall urban planning approved by the State Council, the "five centers" of Shanghai, the international economic, financial, trade, shipping and science and technology innovation centers respectively, were identified. In urban scale, by 2035, the resident population in Shanghai will be controlled at about 25 million and the total land for construction will not exceed 3,200 square kilometers. It is noteworthy that Shanghai's development goal is to become a "global city", which means that Shanghai's competition targets are global cities such as New York, London and Tokyo.
