When Yi Gang, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of China attended the Our Hong Kong Foundation activities in Hong Kong, in his mention of the opening-up progress of RMB capital account, he pointed out that the convertibility of RMB capital account is steadily advancing. The goal is to remain firm but to guard against risks with no subversive mistakes; else it will be accompanied by a lot of problems from the beginning and will bring more losses than when the progress is conducted slowly. He stressed that the internationalization of the RMB is the natural choice, the market's choice, and cannot be given policy preferences.
