It Is Hard to Topple "Land Kings" in China
ANBOUND
Recently, the Deputy Minister of Land and Resources (MLR) Hu Cunzhi said that the first-tier cities with tense demand and supply should increase the land allocation for residence purpose, stabilize the price of land and ensure there will be no more "land kings" within a year. Anbound research team thinks that the emergence of “land kings” is not merely due to local land finance, but also closely related to the rising of house prices in the major main cities. Although MLR wish to curb the issue of “land kings” but it might not be effective; or effective within this year but rebound in the next year.
