On November 4, Cai Qi, Party Secretary of Beijing Municipal Party Committee, studied the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) located in Yizhuang along with Mayor Chen Jining. Cai Qi stressed that the BDA should continue to maintain the characteristics of low density, strengthen the development of public service facilities, optimize the ratio of occupancy, and further improve the level of traffic services and capacity. As an important economic and technological development are in Beijing, with Beijing's adjustment of the policy of restricting industrial development in the city's functional orientation, Yizhuang industry park’s developmental transformation has been moving forward. In this transformation, Yizhuang is facing different options, either choosing to develop into CBD-like and financial street-like high-density business district and service area, or to maintain the characteristics of Yizhuang by making it a new urban community of low density. Anbound as an independent think tank strongly advises that Yizhuang should maintain its low density.
