As China is experiencing population aging and economic transformation, many cities are now starting to compete with each other for talents, for instance Chengdu and Wuhan are actively introducing preferential policies to attract talents. However, the situation in Beijing is somewhat embarrassing. Restricted by the strengthened capital functions and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, and under the strict population control measures, young population inflow has been slowed down; the degree of aging in Beijing will be further exacerbated. Coupled with the improvement of life expectancy of residents in Beijing, the issue of aging population cannot be ignored.
