Hamas' Pioneering Act of 'Weaponizing' the People of Gaza
White Mountain

In Gaza, even the media teams of American television networks, perceived as enemies by Palestine, are given priority for filming. They can pretty much film everywhere, as Hamas needs them to convey their message to the world. Hamas is well aware that without American television networks, it would be nearly impossible for their voice to be heard globally. But now, with the assistance of American television networks, things have become much easier. The suffering of the Palestinian people, the dead bodies of Palestinian children, and the scenes of destruction in Gaza are immediately seen by the whole world.

Such terrible circumstances are exactly what Hamas wants. They deliberately use civilians in Gaza as human shields. When launching attacks on Israel, they have pre-planned escape routes in place. The tragic plight of these Gaza "civilians" becomes their bargaining chip for escaping.

Indeed, some of the residents of Gaza have a clear understanding of their situation. They were the ones who lent their support to Hamas and were prepared to make significant sacrifices. This commitment reflects their way of life and their chosen path. Yet, the wider world often remains unaware of these perspectives. In Western societies, there is a common misconception that these "civilians" are similar to their neighbors in their communities. What may not be widely recognized is that Hamas has long integrated the population of Gaza into its activities, viewing every resident as a potential asset for the organization. These individuals can be seen as willing advocates and participants in various aspects of the organization's mission. It was their collaboration with Hamas during the events of 2006 that resulted in the expulsion of Fatah from Gaza. This paved the way for Hamas to establish a form of local governance in the Palestinian region, forming what is often referred to as a "minor regime".

Hamas is, in fact, considered an enemy of Fatah and is viewed by some as having betrayed the Palestinian cause. The conflict between them is a deeply rooted one.

Many mistakenly believe that any entity bearing the label "Palestine" is inherently Palestinian. This distinction eludes figures like President Joe Biden, who refers to Gaza as "Palestine". At times, China is confused at this as well, with their ambassador to the United Nations discussing "Palestine" when addressing Gaza-specific issues. In reality, Gaza is distinct from Palestine. The internationally recognized governing authority for Palestine is Fatah, led by President Mahmoud Abbas. The current conflict is between Israel and Hamas, not Israel and Palestine. If one insists on considering Gaza as part of Palestine, it should be referred to as "Gaza-Palestine", as this reflects the actual situation.

Hamas is a corrupt private military company (PMC), and it does not attempt to conceal this fact. Ismail Haniyeh and other top leaders of Hamas reside year-round in Qatar's ultra-luxurious five-star hotels, with each individual's net worth ranging from USD 20 - 30 billion. Unlike political organizations in other countries that sometimes feign integrity and pretend to be leaders like Ho Chi Minh, sharing the people's hardships and joys, Hamas does not care about such pretension. Its leaders openly revel in their lifestyle, as if they were the supreme rulers of Gaza.

In reality, Gaza serves as the exclusive domain of Hamas, a PMC that extorts the world. Gaza is not as impoverished as one imagined based on data; it has both affluent and impoverished areas. The construction in the affluent areas rivals that of cities in India and even surpasses many cities in China. Hamas has achieved this through various grey economic activities and extortions. As a result, all those who are fortunate enough to live in Gaza under their auspices must pledge allegiance to it, obey their directives, and dedicate themselves entirely to the organization. These people, all in all, have been weaponized.
