China needs several influential air traffic hubs due to its role as an economic great power deeply involved in globalization. Ranking by the passenger processing capacity in 2016, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chengdu are the four cities with the largest passenger pressing ability, reaching 94.39 million, 66 million and 40.46 million, 59.73 million and 46.04 million respectively. Guangzhou air traffic hub was accelerated recently, and there is plan to invest 314.5 billion into eighty projects before 2019, which will intensify the competition between Guangzhou and Chengdu.
