China should shift from "project diplomacy" to "system diplomacy"
ANBOUND
Anbound Malaysia team noted that the country's Prime Minister Najib Razak's brother Nazir Raszak had suggested that the Malaysian government should scrutinize the Chinese investment under the Belt & Road Initiative, and the RM55 billion East Coast Rail Line (ECRL) should be thoroughly reviewed. Similar remarks not only appear in Malaysia, but in other Belt & Road Initiative countries as well; there are many voices questioning or even opposing Chinese investments. We believe that for China to promote the Belt & Road Initiative, there is the need to meet the international situation of the framework agreement, and China cannot fall into the project trap. China should use the more comprehensive "system diplomacy" to replace the current "project diplomacy".
