"Small country diplomacy" should have both strength and vision
ANBOUND
Singapore's diplomatic community has recently raised a debate on the diplomatic attitude of small countries. Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Long believes that Singapore should accept the reality of small countries, but also to protect its own interests. Singapore has the responsibility to express its views on the issues that are related to its own interests and to oppose them. On this issue, Anbound chief researcher Chan Kung believes that small countries had no diplomacy; before adhering to the premise of small country diplomacy, there should be foresight. Diplomatic space is a comprehensive result of national strength and national vision. It is difficult to reach a real result without a prerequisite to form a diplomatic strategy to bring in diplomatic space. In the future, Singapore will degenerate into an ordinary developed country in Southeast Asia with economic strength but without diplomatic influence.
