Ten drone enterprises signed agreements with nonwestern Beijing's Yanqing to operate in the district, at a conference of low altitude security held in Yanqing on September 16, involving a total investment of 340 million yuan.
The ten enterprises include XPENG AEROHT, Changjie Aviation Power Technology Co., Ltd. and Shandong Longyi Aviation Technology Co., Ltd.
At yesterday's conference, a commission of UAV experts was also established. The commission gathered ten scholars and experts from related research institutes, universities and industrial associations and will provide technological support for the safe expansion of cutting-edge drone operations in the district. So far Yanqing has had a total of 67 drone enterprises.
The drone industry is one of the four pillar industries in Yanqing, with the district among the first batch of 13 unmanned civil aviation experimental zones approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of China in 2020. The zones are designed to offer airspace for testing innovative drone applications and facilitate the process of developing drone businesses.
