ANBOUND

Recently, Su Bo, Vice-Minister for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) revealed that the State Council will soon release a governance program to deal with the overcapacity problem. This program will greatly reduce governmental interference and regulate the standards for market entry. Feng Fei, Chief of Research Department of Industrial Economy at the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), points out that using the market to tackle overcapacity problem does not mean the government will totally withdraw from it. Instead, the government should supervise the industry with standard and technical regulations as well as to strengthen social regulation as well asprocess supervision.
