According to the 2013 Chinese Floating Population Development Report released by the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC), the size of Chinese floating population has reached 236 million. Anbound's research team deems that the NHFPC report has highlighted the necessity of promoting new urbanization strategy in China. Therefore, it should be one of the first priorities for the Chinese government to locate this floating population in the cities and enable them enjoy the same public welfares as permanent civil residents.
