Beijing's "new mission" is now a commonly discussed topic, but as the capital of China, this concept is easy to cause misunderstanding. Rather, it should be "Beijing's mission under the new development". In our view, in the current context Beijing must first consider establishing itself as the capital and serve the Central Government. Second, Beijing should balance itself as capital and as city. Third, it should develop good city economy and industry. Fourth, it should enhance urban value through management and services. From a series of the Central Government’s adjustments, Beijing in the future must take new measures in developing ideas, arrangements, resource allocation, and in other aspects. Under this new development, Beijing should find new balance and new direction. This is the new mission faced by the new leadership of Beijing.
