Market regulators at both municipal and district levels in Beijing have moved online and are taking various measures to ensure the uninterrupted and stable operation of public services amid the recent surge in COVID-19 cases.

According to the city's administration for market regulation, specific arrangements are available via their official WeChat and Weibo accounts. Applicants can submit the required document either online or through delivery services.

Applications for some 191 public services, such as business registration, quality supervision, and food distribution licensing, can be processed via the city's e-government platforms for business services and market regulators, as well as via the Beijing Enterprises Credit Website.

Nearly 38,000 applications have been processed online since May, with more than 95% being about business registration and completely online. Applicants are also encouraged to use free express mail services to submit required documents.

In addition, staff of the city's market regulation administration is working to verify and access applications from home using remote technologies and providing full-time phone-based counseling services for enterprises in need.

Mini programs on WeChat also offer convenience for individuals and enterprises with inquiries concerning business scope and procedures for starting catering businesses.

The city's market regulator pledged to continue to streamline the procedures and optimize their sample documents in a bid to reduce applicants' business difficulties.
