ANBOUND Research Taskforce visits China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park

April 15-17, ANBOUND's founder Kung Chan, Director of Macro Research Center Jun He, and Yi Wang, Head of Global Development Program, who conducted their field research in Guangxi, located in South China and bordering Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin. The Deputy Director Gao Pu and other officials at the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park convened a workshop with ANBOUND researchers. The CMQIP has been highly recognized by the central government, supported by national initiatives, and also is a pilot of "local innovation" replicated throughout the country. The senior management of CMQIP would like to collaborate with ANBOUND's teams to do subjected policy research for its further development.

The China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park (CMQIP) is a cooperative project between the Chinese and Malaysian governments, as well as the third international park jointly constructed by the Chinese government and a foreign government partner. The total planned area of the park is 55 square kilometers.

Focusing on the development of biomedicine, electronic information, equipment manufacturing, new energy and new materials, modern services, as well as traditional ASEAN industries, the park is committed to constructing: a high-end industrial agglomeration area; an integration demonstration area of industry and city; an enrichment area of science, education, and talent resources; as well as an international cooperation and free trade pilot area.
